Something for Nothing

Who doesn’t like something for nothing?

So here are a few bits and pieces that won’t cost you a penny:

  • Nick Daws is running a competition on his blog to win a copy of his new course ‘Blogging for Writers’. All you have to do is send him a guest post of between 500 to 1000 words for his writing blog. The winning entry will be published on his (high-traffic) blog along with any others that he feels are of sufficient interest to his readers. The closing date is Sunday 31st March at 5pm.

  • Ideas Tap are running a competition for stories on any theme between 1,200 and 5,000 words in length. Up to 12 stories will be chosen to receive expert feedback plus publication in an e-anthology. The closing date is 28th May and full details are here.

Brilliantly helpful as always, thank you! That guest blog one is very tempting and now I’m dredging my cluttered mind for a topic that would be considered interesting enough! 🙂 I’ve also taken the cheeky opportunity to get your book for free even though I did intend to buy it eventually! I’ll make sure to buy the other one… I’m doing another free day promotion today for mine but I can’t bring myself to clutter twitter with promos for it so I don’t expect to get many downloads. My last free day only resulted in one 3-star review so I’m kinda getting the hint! 🙂

Thanks for downloading the book Writer Mummy (hope you enjoy it enough to leave a review – if that’s not too cheeky a request!) I’ve just downloaded your Dragon Wraiths – I don’t normally read YA but it looks intriguing. The link is here if anyone else is interested: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dragon-Wraiths-ebook/dp/B00BKZTRP8/

Thanks Sally! I will definitely read and leave a review. I’m not generally the reviewing sort as my summary of a book tends to be ‘that was great’ or ‘that was pants’ but since publishing DW I’ve learned that reviews are everything for the self-published author. Don’t feel you have to plough through DW though if it’s not your cup of tea! 🙂

Thanks for the info. I’m always interested in free competitions so I’ve bookmarked these, but finding the time to do them is going to be the problem. (And I haven’t finished reading Old Friends yet!)

Hope you’re enjoying Old Friends, Linda – and good luck in the comps!
