CheerReader Competition Autumn 2013

I’ve had a note from Brian David asking me to give a shout-out for the latest CheerReader competition. So here it is:

Win yourself €100…

… just by writing the most amusing short story for the next CheerReader competition.

The closing date is midnight on September 30th .

Maximum story length is 1,500 words.

Theme – anything you like, so long as it makes us laugh.

Fee: €5 per story.

So, join in, get writing and have fun.

        Hi Sally, yes I took a look, but it’s a bit rude isn’t it? Not sure I’m keen on making personal fun of people, not to be prudish, I’ll keep an open mind. I’m the old fashioned type of humour. Then again, that can be rude as well can’t it?

    I’ll try and make myself have a go. I tend to struggle with the lighter side – though now I come to think of it my only published short story was comic. Hmm.

    I’ve made myself a promise not to start writing any new short stories until I’ve finished the second draft of my novel (otherwise I’ll never get it finished!). But I couldn’t resist bookmarking this comp because I might be able to recycle one of my old, rejected stories for it.
