Ride – Short Fiction About Bicycles is looking for submissions for its next short story anthology.

RIDE 3 will be published in print, as well as digital format.

The only requirement is that a bicycle or bicycle subculture must feature prominently in the story. Any genre, any gender, any length up to about 12,000 words, any setting, any country, any time period, any kind of cycling. The more diversity—of locations, cycling cultures, story genres—the better.

Payment ranges from $20 to $75 depending on the length of the story. Deadline is 31st August 2013.

The full details are here.

With thanks to Nick Daws for bringing this market to my attention via his newsletter.

Thank you, Sally – have just downloaded it and look forward to reading some great tips.

Thanks for the link to the bicycle story comp, I might have a go at that. It’s been too windy here for the past few weeks for comfortable bike riding, and today the wind’s dropped but it’s raining. Writing about cycling seems a more attractive option than real life pedal pushing!

Good Luck with the story, Linda. I have a bike but rarely ride it – probably because I’m scared of the cars!

Thank you for the link- I’ve read the first story in the sample on Amazon and really enjoyed it. Cycling is my second favourite occupation next to writing so it seems too good an opportunity to miss! And today is a perfect day to cycle so might well take to the pedals and think up a story on route!

Downloaded your writing book today and read it all in one go. Thanks for hosting a five day free offer…I thought it was a great book to introduce writing tips and some valuable advice included in every chapter. Left a review too, as a little bit of gratitude that I got to read all your top tips for free. 🙂
